Forgiving Our Mother
The Forgiving Our Mother is very special and so well done. I can’t imagine how difficult it was to write!
-Jane
It’s a great story, I’m glad you wrote it! Some parts were difficult for me to read because I know you and you’ve told me some of what happened in your childhood so it hit on a personal level. I hope it provides some closure for you to write it down.
-Brie
I am so drawn to your writing and your story. It’s an incredible way to process information and give it context. If I were to pick up a copy (in a bookstore) and read only the first couple of pages there, it would be going home with me for sure! Excellent work, my friend!

My Accidental Diet
Available on Amazon
I picked up The Accidental Diet with interest. For years I've been trying to lose those last 10 -12 pounds with no success. A little up, a little down, but the middle was always the same. Diets do not work in the long run. It's all about life changes you can sustain that create success over time. The Accidental Diet was written after the author achieved a large weight loss and was asked time after time how she did it. This book walks you through it.

What this book is not - an easy fix. Her weight loss didn't happen overnight. This journey took several years with tiny changes implemented over time and led by the question, "What would a healthy person do/choose in this moment?" The steps she personally took are ones we've heard before - cut out most of the carbs, be active (she ran, did boot camp, and embraced yoga), add more vegetables to your diet (she even has her own vegetable garden), limit dairy and avoid sweets as much as possible. Making fresh meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) instead of purchasing processed food choices was also key. But she acknowledges that is what worked for her.

In the end, the key to sustainable weight loss she puts forward is to listen to what your body is telling you and embrace small changes one at a time that will lead you to a healthier lifestyle you CAN sustain. Let go of the scale and the number on the scale. Let go of the guilt if you have a moment of indulgence - she admits to having them herself. Just begin making one simple choice at a time guided by that question, "What would a healthy person do/choose in this moment?" And that I can do. I'll just have to wait to see where it leads me.

This book is AWESOME! I really enjoyed this book. I have found that sometimes books of this type can read like a textbook or a lecture. That is not the case with this book. It was a very easy read, packed full of excellent information. Rhonda's journey to discovering healthy food and fitness in her own life is very inspiring. She had a ton of obstacles to overcome, she didn't do it overnight, but she never gave up! Persistence, faith, and determination got her through the tough times, and health and wellness were her reward. Read it, you will be inspired!!

As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for the past 16 years, I often see women who have tried every diet in an attempt to lose weight. I’m delighted that Rhonda shows us in this book how to change our eating and fitness habits and achieve this without yo yo diets. I particularly love her recipe suggestions and food tips to replace the sugary deserts we all love!

My Accidental Diet is a book full of inspiration; a delightful step-by-step guide on how to find your way back to health. Rhonda’s story made me laugh and cry and it challenged me to start examining some of my own “excuses” for not doing what I know serves my greater good. My Accidental Diet will take you on a journey full of wisdom, insight, vulnerability, and practical tips that can easily be incorporated into your day-to-day life. This book is a MUST read for anyone who finds themselves wondering how they can get on the fast track to feeling good again.

So inspiring and helpful to read Rhonda’s book in the middle of my own health journey. She is proof that Life Change and Weight Loss are possible after 50! I can hardly wait for her cookbook… I follow her on Instagram too- she posts some delicious recipes. Way to go, Rhonda!

As a healthcare professional, I work daily with aging patients who suffer from poor health and limited mobility. I love that Rhonda decided to take control of her declining health through nutrition and exercise. It is possible. This book is full of inspiring stories not only for those wishing to lose weight but also for those people who want to improve the overall quality of their health. Proper diet and exercise are important components of health and are far too often overlooked.

As a friend of Rhonda’s, watching her give birth to this book has been a wonderful journey. She has been an encouragement to me personally. She walks her talk.
